The Colt M4A1 Carbine SOCOM, also known as the Colt M4A1, is a lightweight and powerful firearm designed for tactical deployment and traditional patrol. It boasts exceptional mobility, quick target acquisition and potent firepower capability. This M4A1 Colt rifle is perfect for situations that require a high degree of mobility and speed. Here is a .45 caliber semi-automatic version of the world's first and most famous military rifle. The Thompson M1 was used victoriously in battles throughout the world, inscribing its place for all times as a legend among military firearms. We offer the same attention to craftsmanship today that made the original so highly regarded. The look and feel are authentic, right down to the side bolt action. The frame and receiver are milled from solid steel or aluminum, the wood is genuine American walnut and the overall finish is a blued steel or black anodized aluminum.
"Built like a tank" is a phrase that has entered the American lexicon as a means to describe hardware that is durable, strong and nearly indestructible. The term may have originated in describing armored fighting vehicles, but it also clearly describes the Tommy Gun. It is only fitting then that Auto-Ordnance continue the series of WWII commemorative guns with the "Tanker Thompson", dedicated to the memory of the brave American soldiers who faced the enemy in steel chariots like the M4 Sherman Tank. Nearly 50,000 Shermans were produced during World War II, seeing action primarily in Europe against Nazi Germany. Just like the Thompson, these Shermans were a vital part of the war effort. The crews that took them into harm's way were often outgunned by German tanks, but nevertheless took the fight to the enemy and achieved victory despite the odds. Auto-Ordnance is proud to honor America's armored warriors with this commemorative Thompson. Each Tanker Thompson is Cerakoted in Army O.D. Green. The white star of the Sherman Tank is engraved just in front of the mag well. The "U.S" logo is engraved on the buttstock. Like every Thompson, the gun is all steel with high grade walnut furniture. The 16.5" barrel is exceptionally accurate. The winner of the $50 million USSOCOM Sniper Rifle Contract, the Barrett Mark 22 Advanced Sniper Rifle now sits at the tip of the spear of US military might. Based on Barrett’s Multi Role Adaptive Design Sniper Rifle, better known as the MRAD, the Barrett Advanced Sniper Rifle System was able to meet and exceed SOCOM’s stringent requirements for the Mark 22 contract.
Milled from a single block of 7075 Aluminum, the Barrett Mark 22 Advanced Sniper Rifle’s receiver more resembles the lower receiver of an AR platform rifle – housing the fire control group and magazine well, as well as attachment points for the pistol grip and folding buttstock. The upper receiver of the Barrett Mark 22 Advanced Sniper Rifle System also shares visual and functional similarities with the AR platform, with the bolt riding within a completely enclosed upper aided by a polymer bolt guide. What helped secure USSOCOM’s contract for Barrett is the intuitive caliber changing functionality of the Mark 22 Advanced Sniper Rifle System (and MRAD). In order to change calibers on the Barrett Mark 22 only two parts need to be swapped: the barrel, held in place by two torx screws and the bolt head.
USSOCOM Advanced Sniper Rifle Requirements

The Barrett Mark 22 Rifles differs from the MRAD in a few small but important areas. The first being the handguard, the Mark 22 features the M-LOK attachment system with attachment points at the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions and full length picatinny top rail. The Mark 22 features a single stage trigger fixed at just 2.5 lbs. and finished with protective black coating. The buttstock of the Mark 22 will include a incremental mechanical lock for adjusting comb height, an adjustable recoil pad, and a bag rider covering a picatinny rail that allows for the mounting of a monopod. The Barrett Mark 22 Advanced Sniper Rifle System is also coated in an exclusive SOCOM Coyote Brown finish.
