In 2022, a historical announcement was made to officially select the MCX-SPEAR as the M7 service rifle by the U.S. Army. In combination with the groundbreaking 6.8x51 hybrid ammunition, the MCX-SPEAR has become the pinnacle by which rifle capabilities will be judged.
Capable of muzzle velocities in excess of 3,000 FPS with a 113gr bullet out of a 16” barrel, the MCX-SPEAR rifle is achieving the Army’s goal of advanced performance while also exceeding the requirements for durability. Now for the first time, this technology will be available to the U.S. civilian market with the MCX-SPEAR rifle chambered in 6.8x51 along with a family of Hybrid Ammunition from SIG SAUER. The MCX-SPEAR platform also offers a new level of modularity, allowing for caliber conversion between 6.8x51, 7.62x51 and 6.5 Creedmoor and 13” or 16” barrel length options. In addition, the MCX-SPEAR features a non-reciprocating side charging handle, a rear charging handle, fully ambidextrous controls, a 2-Stage Match Duo Trigger and a free-floating M-LOK™ handguard.
For the first time in more than 30 years a new rifle has brought an entirely new level of performance and reliability to the U.S. Army, and is now ushering in a changing of the guard.

When the original Thompson sub-machine gun was made, its design epitomized an era when firearms were works of art crafted in wood and steel. Each gun a hand machined example of American ingenuity and creativity. Auto-Ordnance has kept that tradition alive with its gorgeous blue steel, hard wood stocked Thompson carbines. Now we are taking the art of the Thompson to a new level with our new “Case Hardened” Tommy Guns.
This time honored tradition of working steel produces distinct and unique patterns of color long sought after by firearms aficionados. The Auto-Ordnance “Case Hardened” Tommy Guns are each a work of art, covered in a beautiful, swirling finish. Beneath the colorful surface is an all steel, 18” barreled 1927 pattern Thompson, chambered in powerful .45 ACP. The stock, forearm and grip are Walnut.
While every Auto-Ordnance Thompson is made to replicate the look of the original guns, they are also equipped with a precisely machined barrel. This guarantees that they may look like an original Tommy Gun, but they will shoot with a level of accuracy the originals could not match. The Auto-Ordnance “Case Hardened” Thompson gives today’s shooter a chance to own a beautifully finished piece of American military history, and experience legendary shooting performance with every trip to the range!
This 18" (16.5 barrel plus removable, pinned Cutts compensator) example has an overall length of 41” from buttstock to muzzle and features a blade front and open rear adjustable (elevation only) sight and weighs 13.0 lbs.
