This Italian-import Colt Single Action Army peacemaker-style replica is an exact duplicate of the iconic sixgun packed by Russell Crowe as bad man Ben Wade, albeit with a NON gold-plated sterling silver crucifix inlaid in the grip's right side and finished in nickel as opposed to traditional bluing with color case hardening like the one in the movie and, likewise, is offered with a 4 3/4-inch barrel only and chambered in the iconic .45 Colt caliber. Designed by Major George Schofield to be operated with one hand while on horseback, a break-open pistol was ideal for mounted soldiers in the U.S. Cavalry. Shooters could easily eject all six spent cartridges and reload while on horseback. The top break pistol also proved useful to the likes of Jesse James and Wild Bill Hickok. The Schofield barrel latch opens by pulling it back with the thumb and includes the rear sight notch. This 7" barreled model features a forged steel blued frame and barrel with various case hardened parts and a two-piece walnut grip with cartouche. Chambered in the venerable 45LC.
